Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Teacher Orientation

An Online Course for Tipton County School Teachers, grades 6-12.

This course is for all 6-12 teachers new to the district, as well as any current teachers planning to implement the BYOD model into their classroom instruction. The BYOD model reflects the change to the previous policy which allows students in grades 6-12 to bring personal devices to school.

The following course is a self-paced unit intended to provide Tipton County teachers with the new policy and instructional strategies to properly implement student use of the personal devices within the classroom.

Requirements for the course include use of a computer with either a speaker or headphones and a connection to the Internet and a printer. The course will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. At the end of the course, you will have the option to review the material, or you may proceed directly to a short post-test. Upon completion of the test, you should print your certificate.

*Turn in a copy of your BYOD Course Certificate to your administrator prior to implementing BYOD instructional strategies in your classroom.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify rules for implementing personal devices in the classroom.
  • Apply recommended strategies for integrating personal devices and techniques for classroom implementation.
